Broadleaf Evergreens: Vaccinium (Huckleberry)
Choose another category

Vaccinium ovatum
Evergreen Huckleberry is a Pacific Northwest native that is equally at home in the dappled shade of a woodland setting as in full sun and could even be used, sheared, as a hedge! The small new growth has tones of bronze and copper maturing to shiny, dark green serrated leaves. Small, urn-shaped flowers hang beneath the foliage in spring and turn into edible, blue-black berries. The tart berries make delicious jams or jellies.
