Gymnocladus dioicus 'Espresso'
Kentucky Coffee Tree is late to leaf out but eventually produces doubly compound leaves of numerous leaflets, giving it a somewhat tropical look. Newly emerging leaves may be tinged with pink. Tolerant of drought. Female plants will produce fragrant white flower panicles leading to reddish-pink seed pods which were used as coffee beans in pioneer days. Rough textured bark.
